Summary Post C4T Teacher #1
In Mrs. Still’s first blog post that I commented on, she was talking about how excited she was about starting her sixth year of teaching. She talked about how nerves she was in her first years of teaching, and how she had everything planned out the night before the first day of school. She also explained how their first day of school went goes and how it is a day for the teachers and students to get to know each other. Her second post was about how all her students like her because she is open-minded, tolerant, and approachable. She also told us about a student whom she had last year, he would not talk to her or any other teacher, and when she got her rooster, she noticed he was in her class again this year. She said how he was the same way this year but when the opportunity came during an assignment he need help on, she took it to get through to him. The way she got him to open up to her was by talking about the Three Stooges, which was something they both liked.
My comment on the first post was about how I appreciated how Mrs. Still is still excited and happy about being a teacher. I also told her how I liked their use of the first day of school and that it is a great idea to for them to get to know each other. My second post was about how I did not want to be one of the teachers who do not care about getting through to their students, but like her who feels like it is important and uses every opportunity to do so. Also, how teachers are a major influence in the lives of their students because they are with them 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
